Engineering notes

Built to a heavy engineering OEM's standard

This order was placed by ISGEC Heavy Engineering Limited for their end customer. Working as an OEM partner means building to the principal's engineering standard, drawing control and inspection regime — the equipment carries their project, so it is reviewed against their acceptance criteria, not ours.

Hydraulic sling bar de-hooking

De-hooking the sling bar is the step that decides how fast a cane yard actually turns trailers around, and it is the step that traditionally puts a person near a suspended load. Doing it hydraulically from the trolley removes the manual intervention and keeps the cycle repeatable through a 24 hour season shift.

Double drum, two motion arrangement

A double drum layout keeps the sling bar level under load across the 10.50 metre span. Two-motion operation — hoist and long travel — is the arrangement that suits a cane carrier feed, where the load path is fixed and the cycle is repeated rather than positioned freely.
